The Winery
The new winery is a preciuos architectural object. A chest of stone, steel and glass with a powerful core of concrete.
The crooked iron pillars, that recall a row of vines, rise up in the sky to sustain the roof and involve the big glass wall throughout one can see inside and enjoy the external panorama.
A big terrace invisible from the ground, welcome the visitor offering a wonderful 360 degrees view on the Lake Garda and his drumlin hills.
The cellars extend underground, where the big red Veronese wines mature in steel and wood.
The connection between the ancient and the modern
« During the day the shadows of the pillars draw graphic marks on the white walls, by night the bright lines of the lighting invert the relationship. »
The composition of the new volume outside the ground is played on the connection between a stainless steel exoskeleton assembled on stones-covered septums, with a chromatic and formal allusion of the two thypical elements of coutryside: the sustain poles of the vines and the stones of terracing. The winery put togheter two different ideas of building: the building paradigma of the stone and the tectonic assembly of the steel structure.
